
During digital transformation most executives have to follow two opposing strategies if they want their company to survive in the long term: They need to exploit and boost their current business (exploitation) and simultaneously search for new digital business opportunities, platforms and ecosystems (exploration). For leaders the question of how to deal with these fundamentally different paradigms becomes more and more of a serious concern. While technologies and markets are radically changing, ambidexterity turns out to be the most adequate mental model and leadership skill in global companies.
